Toughtron®

Walzen Toughtron® is a cold-rolled, heat-treated medium carbon steel strapping engineered for the heaviest-duty applications. With high tensile strength, superior ductility, and excellent shock resistance, it secures heavy loads even around sharp corners. Its painted and waxed finish ensures smooth performance, corrosion resistance, and reliable tensioning in automated systems. Ideal for steel plants and other heavy-duty packaging needs, Toughtron® delivers unmatched toughness and durability.

Walzen Toughtron® is a cold-rolled. heat-treated, medium carbon steel strapping that provides high tensile strength and excellent shock resistance for the heaviest-duty applications. Cold rolling gives steel higher strengths, flexibility to have closer control of thickness and a smoother surface. However it reduces the ductility and the ability of the material to take shock loads. These properties are achieved by the superior Walzen heat treatment process which gives a superior quality strapping material with high strength, close tolerances, high yield point and necessary ductility to bend it around sharp corner. Painted and waxed coating enables tension transmission around load corners and also serves the dual purpose of corrosion resistance. Compared to conventional cold rolled steel strapping. Toughtron®'s high toughness allows it to elongate further without breaking to better absorb shocks during transit and handling.

Finishes : Straps are painted on-line and are treated with a hard wax coating. This lubrication allows the strapping to flow smoothly in automated machines, tools and around corners of products.

Toughtron®- has the ability to  

  1. Secure heavy packages against shock.
  2. Can take very high tensioning load for high compaction particularly for sharp edges.
  3. Resists breakage even when tightened around sharp corners.

Typical Application: Specially used for heavy duty packing of Steel and other materials.
